I do a lot of lifting for my work, and was continually injured - shoulder ache, back pain, neck problems. Through her fitness classes Erin helped me to build my upper body strength and core strength. I needed this not only for my job, but for life with my four children. After two sessions of classes I felt so fit, I started to train for a triathlon...a sport I had not participated in in over 4 years. Erin really inspired me to get back into shape, improve my strength and start racing again!

After maintaining an active lifestyle all during my 20's, 30's and 40's at the age of 54, I found myself 20 lbs overweight and battling injury after injury when I tried to enjoy activities I had enjoyed in my past, like running, horseback riding, yoga and strength training. This weight gain is typical of a menopausal women and I was ready to give up and accept old age gracefully as my fitness level continued to decline.
I first met Erin about 15 years ago when she was Miss Dance of Canada and had always admired her beauty and talent as a dancer. This summer I bumped into Anne and John (Erin's mom and dad) in Milton and they told me Erin had gone on to become a certified personal fitness trained and had started her own business in Milton called "Freak Your fitness". Never missing an opportunity for shameless self promotion I mentioned I would be interested in designing a website for "Freak Your Fitness and would also be interested in giving some personal training a try as a last resort to get in shape.
After getting re-aquainted with Erin and putting together this great website for "Freak Your Fitness :), I decided of all the programs offered the 6 week intensive would be the best for me. An all or nothing approach.
So my journey began by providing Erin with some details about my current lifestyle and journaling my eating and sleeping habits over 3 or 4 days. I began working out in Erin's private gym for 1 hour 3 times a week. The workouts were different every day, I never knew what to expect and the time just flew by. Even though the workouts were getting more intense each week, I never felt exhausted or overwhelmed. It was the opposite, I feel energized and inspired and looking forward to my next session. Erin is always prepared for me and my program, always pays close attention to my form to ensure the movements were done correctly, she calculates the amount of weights and is there for me for every rep and set, with lots of support and encouragement. All I have to do is show up!
But the best part for me, has been the meal plans. Erin developed a customized a 3 week meal plan (including recipes and shopping list) which not only took into consideration my weight loss and fitness goals, but my personal likes and dislikes as well as my dietary health needs. The meal plans included, 6 small meals per day so I found myself focusing on eating enough throughout the day and never feel hungry. The recipes are delicious! I have even been using them to serve to my guests (and my husband!) Not only have I lost weight with the meal plans, I have learned a whole approach to nutrition and plan to adopt the "eating clean" lifestyle for a long time to come.
The results ... after the 6 intensive program, I have lost weight, added muscle, co-ordination and strength. But most importantly, I feel great, physically and emotionally, ready to enjoy running and horseback riding again, I have renewed enthusiasm, I'm walking taller and with more confidence, ready to take on the world.
Was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY! This is the best thing I've done for myself in a long time, possibly the best ever!
